I'm back . . .added pictures.
Wow . . .I'm still tired. Getting up way before the break of day to hunt and staying up to the late hours visiting for 10 days can wear you out!
I tagged out on a seven point on Saturday, the last day of the rifle season. I had only seen two bucks the entire hunt. Well, not counting the button buck that stalked me. I let a very nice six point walk. He was wide and high with a good size body. Hopefully, I can hang him on a wall in a couple of years.
I took 4 does and the lone buck. I didn't see any signs of the rut while I was in Virginia last week. No chasing, no active scrapes . . .nothing. That was discouraging.
Overall, a very good trip. Nothing like being out there.
Here are some pictures from the trip.
A fawn laying in the sun. We were retrieving a doe I took earlier and passed this deer four or five times within 20 yards . . .it didn't move.
Here is my cousin with his 3 point, nice buck for the dinner table.
A picture of another cousin with his small doe . . .
A shot of me with my first doe . . .
The shot of my seven point . . .yeah, that's my doe too.
A picture of me and Nippy with the seven point/doe combo. Nippy took possession of all the scraps.
A lot of success and happy hunters/eaters. As always I enjoy hunting with my cousins and friends.

I'd rather wear out than rust out.
