Yesterday's Wildfowl Hunt

Post by Adam »

Since bow season is closed for the week long controlled hunt, I decided to go and try my luck on some birds. Aside from dealing with belligerent antis on my trip downstream, it was a decent hunt. I even had to stop shooting at geese because I had no more room in my kayak to carry them.

Nice day out, aside from the jerks who bothered you.

Why couldn't you tow some geese behind you?

You could have had a flotilla! :D

Great pictures Adam!

Looks like you really had a fun day. The anti's probably added to the fun as you got to laugh at them.

I love the camo job on the kayak and I love the idea grizz had with the flotilla. 8)

I tried tying the birds to the side of my kayak, but all that created was drag causing me to turn that way almost like a rudder. I still need to design a tow behind trailer that has a fixed neck. One that wont pass me in the rapids causing my boat to spin. Or just find a buddy who likes to hunt as much as I do and owns a proper duck boat.

Very Good! :) Way to put the Smackdown on them. I love Waterfowling. Every weekend I'm out. Thats a nice way to get down on them quietly.

Adam does your kayak have hatches front and back? If so you can get some riggin from Nova craft to carry your ducks and geese. Or is it an open cockpit kayak? many options available to adjust for hunting. We carried
camping gear on our kayaks when we did the French River two years ago on our deck.

Great camo job :)

I agree with Hoss! The fun of waterfowl hunting is the camaraderie.

And, it is also a lot safer!

Great pictures, that first goose in the row looks like he has been eating well.

For the duck hunters that wise to improve their odds.
