Oral Surgery Tomorrow,I hope (TODAY)

Post by saxman »

about 10 days ago one of my old fillings came out along with most of the tooth.#14.
I waited 4 days for an App with my guy,he can't do it,needs a root canal,so I go to the root canal guy,he cant do it,not enough left for a build up and crown so i say,can you pull it,NOPE,it's wrapped up in my sinus.
So it's off to the Oral Surgon tomorrow.
This will be my first time using this guy so i hope he pulls it and not just give me another app after looking at it.
The pain is getting quite bad. :( :( :(

AUGH! I hate getting dental work!!!

Sorry, I guess that doesn't help, does it?

Hopefully you'll get some relief. Nothing is worse than a painful tooth.

I'm putting off an appt for a cracked molar... going to do the usual and just wait until it's totally unbearable, which should coincide with about New Years when no dental office is open.

Best of luck with your procedure!

sax try some oil of cloves or just pure cloves if you have them at home. tastes like ---- but if will help with the pain. If you have an abscess, you may need medication antibiotic . because of your medical history ask dentist first. (about antibiotic) Oil of cloves ok but again I repeat tasted like s---
but will relieve the pain.

Good luck with the surgery Sax.

You are one of the most resilient guys I have ever run into.

I am sure you will handle this well like all the other challenges that have been placed in your path.

Be sure and let us all know how you are doing.

Good luck with it!
I had an abscessed and impacted wisdom tooth removed by an oral surgeon several years ago. He wanted me to take antibiotics first, but I elected to have it removed the day I first visited him. Probably not the best move, but I survived.

I hear ya wabi!

I had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled five years ago in one sitting. It was a dirty trick.

My dentist is a very dear friend of mine and my college roommate. He was a pitcher for Xavier and everyone knows how flaky pitchers are. He kept bugging me to have them yanked and I kept saying there was no way in hell that was going to happen.

To make a long story short, he and the Swede hatched a plan and she slipped me an ativan (lorazepam) along with my vitamins I take every morning. I was so happy I would have allowed them to take me to a surgeon for breast augmentation. My buddy the dentist shows up at my door and they load me into the car and off we went to the oral surgeon.

I wake up that afternoon on the couch in the family room around three o'clock minus four wisdom teeth and feel like I got hit in the jaw by a freight train.

Needless to say, I look very carefully at the vitamins she brings me along with my morning orange juice now.

Didn't want to hijack your thread Sax, just thought you might enjoy the little story.

Good luck Scott------I too have had major pain and surgeries in my mouth since I have been a small child. Keep thinking how good you are going to feel when this is all over and you are preparing for your next hunt.

I had all 4 done also as a starving road musician.
I had to do it that way being on the road.OUCH.
Thats a funny story Mike.
