A Christmas present:

A Christmas present:
Today, I received a Christmas present from the farmer that owns the farm along side the swamp I hunt in. He gave permission to hunt and put up a stand on the farm property that is between one of his fields and the swamp.
I've been trying to get permission to hunt that area for ten years. I may not be able to make much use of it this year; but, one of my Packmasters will be moved to the field edge area during the summer months. Merry Christmas all!!!!!.

What an exciting present!!
It's a gift that'll keep on giving.
You treat that farmer right.

The only reason I have put two does in the freezer is that I hunt in Connecticut. In my experiences hunting in Mass it is not uncommon to go a week, or longer, without even seeing a flag, much less the whole deer. Yet Mass Wildlife says the deer herd is in great shape. I hunted Mass twice this year, the rest of my time has been spent in Connecticut with the Xbow. It is really sad that I prefer to hunt Connecticut with the xbow over using the shot gun or muzzleloader in my home state. All of the acorns and warm temps have not helped either. There has been a lot less deer movement IMO.

Re: A Christmas present:
little helpful advice which im sure you know... after season get in there and pick your tree. If permission is good for next year and you dont have to worry about someone stealing your stand, put a ladder stand up and leave it. Deer will get use to it before next season. Do your homework right after season so you are ready to go next season
