New here

Post by weezy »

I just stumbled upon this site and have been reading pages of info about stuff I would have never known to do and not to do with my crossbow.I wish I would have found this place along time ago.I purchased a Phoenix 3 years ago and so far have taken 2 bucks and 4 does with it and I end up shooting it just as much if not more than my compound vertical bow...Im not sure if im the youngest member here (19 yrs old)but hope to learn alot more from everyone...I also see a boo string is the way to go string wise so it looks like ill have to get me a couple of those..

When I first got my bow my archery shop set me up and put horton rail lube on my bow.It gets all gunky in the rail so I stopped using it the week after.I took it back to them for a new string to be put on(I now have a un-stringer) and they seen there was no lube on the rail and he said ''if you dont lube that it will ruin your bow''.I just left it dry and just waxed the string/serving and let it be.Is this okay to do or will it ''ruin'' my bow?..I will post a picture of this years buck and doe, both taken with my phoenix...once I figure out how to post pictures :)

NOooo. You won't ruin your bow. Most just put a little wax on the serving and leave the rail naked. You can scrape off the gunk with a credit card. It's all they're really good for.

Welcome young man to the Forum of Excals CB's. You don't need to wax rail deck, just the string. When you get a chance to get some Daltons wax do so use it lightly on center serving.Lets see those pic's. You have a photobucket acct. just do it to it!

This years buck.25 yard shot broadside hit him in the heart and he only ran 30 yards.I should have put his tongue back in and cleaned the blood up a little but this was my biggest buck so I wasnt thinking Image he's off getting mounted now
