bear problem fixed

Post by flbuckmaster »

I talked my son in law into coming down this weekend to raise my auto feeder up higher so the "nuts" bear couldnt reach it. I wanted to get it up at least 6-8" higher but we were able to get it 18" higher by using my electric lift in my mule buggy.we streached the 24' chain between to large pine trees and coupled it with large eye bolts on the back side of each tree. a coupler and pully connects to the middle of the chain and fastens to the 35 gallon feeder can and a tree mounted boat winch. the height is now over 10' off the ground to the losest section of the feeder. I cant imagine a bear reaching this feeder ever again. I filled it with soybeans and corn and havent got a single picture of the bear yet on 312 pictures of deer we retreved today since sunday. Sax may have nailed one tonight hunting over it.

Famous last words! :P

Good luck with that, buddy. LOL :D :D

You can't hardly keep one up here for the bears ... and stringin' 'em up on cables just brings out the acrobat in determined bruins.

For instance:

Anyhow, hope it works for you! 8)
