Congrats on a good hunt and thanks for sharing the pictures. I had a 740 Woodsman in a .30-06, I really liked that rifle. Sure is nice of Jay to set you up and nice of you to go down there and trim his trees. I'd say that's even.

glad you had a good time Sax....sorry my health keeps me from being a better host. My daughter thanks you for the meat you left her. If the good Lord is willling, I will have a good place to hunt here at the house for many more years to come.

You were a great host Jay.
With your schedule you have no time to babbysit me nor do you need to,I know where everything is now.
Thank's for not making me sleep in the pink bed this time,my legs hang off the end and I get the strange urge to suck my thumb
My confidence was way down after missing the same deer twice with my muzzy on my lease and then missing 2 more while there. The dynamic of the hunt changed when you handed me the 30-06.I felt confidant again, even more so after the shot.

The plot looks really good this season Jay.I know you have put in alot of work.
The deer season in my zone ends this Sunday so I will be at the range monday with the 50 cal this time and I will fix that problem so we can do the late season muzzy hunt next month.

I'm glad she is enjoying the meat,I didn't get a chance to clean it up for her.
I hope the cooler was big enough. The first time I hunted with Jay I didn't bring a cooler to put meat in so he gave me one of his, apparently he has done this before and gave away all his coolers and they never came back so I replaced the one I got from him.

I'm going to take the rifle to a gunsmith to be checked out.I put a box of shells through it yesterday,it has a few ejection problems but may just need to be shot some.I found out it was made in 1978.I also found out one of my Remington shotguns (model 11) was made in 1929.And it is still shooting fine.

Thank's again Jay.

Thanks for sharing your pics and story. I personally respect ALL forms of hunting whether it's X-bow or rifle. It's all about respect for our wildlife no matter which way you hunt. Glad you finally got your doe.

I agree Picasso
We MUST respect each other and methods that we don't use or even aprove of as long as they are legal in that state.

Jay,I have the rifle at a gun shop now getting checked out
The gun did pattern well for having no rest.I shot at 25,50,75 & 100 yards, all killing shots.
I fired two clips, the second five shots ejected well except for the last cartridge.
I'll let you know what the gunsmith says.
I know it was made in 1978.
