Looks like no member knows the answer.

I sure don't, but I'd email Excalibur and ask if I really wanted to know.

As for me - I just use the method of applying all the force I can to the wrench. If the wrench bends, or the screw breaks or strips I know I exceeded the force required.
Matter of fact.......... I've done just that several times!

Perhaps it isn't such a bad question after all!

I had to laugh at that answer. I haven't stripped any bolts.....yet. Yeah, it would be nice if they did have such a chart.

I sent them an email, we'll see what happens. I'm a bit of a perfectionist so I wouldn't mind torquing the bolts to required spec. Or maybe I'm just being anal.

What are you using for a torque wrench? I can't find a decent one for inch pounds.

Nothing special, just a generic torque wrench from a automotive supplier.

If you have access to a machinery handbook, you should be able find torque specs for the specific bolts used on all parts of the bow.

Hi All,

We do not have any torque specs for the hardware on our crossbows. All fastners just need to be snugged up with the wrenches provided, turn them as hard as you can by hand and you're good.

I just put a 6' pipe on my itsy-bitsy hex wrench and snug everything up good'n'tight!!!

KIDDING!

I'm pretty AR about torque specs when working on high performance machines (I ride sport bikes - hard) but when it comes to xbows and the inch-pounds required to snug up the bolts, for some reason I'm not that AR. Think of it like spark plugs: finger tight - then quarter turn should be good.
