Beware of bad trader!!!

Post by DesertRat »

Well, I had a terrible Trading Post experience the last 2 days agingcrossbower.

I put a set of camo up for sale, had a response and we agreed on a price. When it came time for payment I sent him my email for the paypal transaction. He typed it in incorrectly and sent the money to someone else.

When the transaction did not come through on my end, I asked him if he got the email correct and he said he did. Next thing I know he is on the thread warning people about me and that I was a scammer. I tried PMing him but he made several posts accusing me of theft before he replied to any PMs. He was ignorant and rude and swore up and down that he had the correct email. Saddly, the email that he swore so hard was correct was not mine. (I have triple checked the PMs and I sent him the correct email). I tried to explain it to him but he just kept posting crap about me. I gave him 3 seperate chances to make it right by setting the record straight and apologizing online. Instead, he chose to leave the forum (at least under his current name) and leave the crap about me out there.

If this clown ever attempts to deal with you, I would avoid it. He is in WI so if you get a buyer with a WI address and you are a little unsure, PM me. I kept his full name and address in my PMs.

Not sure if he was trying to scam me or just was lost in the technology but the way he handled it was the worst I have ever dealt with on the internet!

Just warning the people out there that this guy is trouble. You have the right to see it however you want wheelie.

As for copy and paste, if he had done that, there would not have been an issue as I sent him the correct email and have the PMs to back it. Thanks for your input though.

Think I will have that beer now.

I think there is a difference between badmouthing someone and letting others know about a potential problem, that seems to be truthful.

I would warn others as well. It's what good people do.

Mike (agingcrossbower) has been nothing but straight up with me. He ordered a string, I made it, I mailed it, I contacted him later to tell him it was on it's way and he paid me later. It was not a large amount and there was no discussion. I have not dealt with desert rat financially but I have nothing but good to say about Mike.
To everyone else, take the warning for what it's worth (no judgment or opinion towards desert rat at all) but please be aware that I extended my blind trust toward agingcrossbower and was not done wrong by so please, everyone read and please do not extend judgment on Mike. For all we know it is a gross miss-understanding.
Desert rat, may I have your email address. Please send it by PM.

It was a misunderstanding. I don't care that the money was sent to the wrong address. That could have easily been fixed. I don't even care that the guy was mad at me either.

The part that I am warning people about is the way he dealt with the problem. He ignored numerous PMs I sent him and several requests for him to verify the email address he used. During that time I found out he was posting crap about me all over the forum and was contacting moderators etc...

Things happen when dealing over the net. They can also be resolved in a mature and calm fashion. this guys lost ot on me and all I was trying to do was help him get his money back and get him the items. He sent me nasty PMs, accused me of stealing in them and online, called me names amongst other things. All this was after HE messed up.

I will not apologize for this posting and will stand behind the fact that this guy was the worst trader I have dealt with on any board ever! I am sure BOO had a great experience with him but be aware that if there is the smallest wrinkle in the transaction, he will not listen to reason or communicate with you!

I'm sure you are right and he is out $75.00 and you are insulted. Both parties loose no one is further ahead. Anyone adding acid to this fire is not doing anyone any good.
Desertrat has said his piece, warned us all so lets leave it be. Or do I have to yell at everyone like RJ did?

I don't know who's zooming who.
