Anyone currently hunting deer?

Just wondering if anyone is still chasing deer? Or has everyone put their deer gear away?

I haven't seen anything to indicate deer hunting is still underway.

Perhaps the voting for the photo contest can commence if the hunting has stopped.

The season ended here in Ohio last Sunday.
I may take a walk looking for sheds tomorrow, though.

Season ends here Sunday, in my area in La. But I'm done.
Oh well, it's 0 deer for me this year.
With the Saints winning the Super Bowl, hunting took a back seat.
Just wait till next year.

The season is open until the end of February here in Ark. I went out tonight with my Ibex and my daughter. I shot at one, but I think I shot a little high. I'll go out as much as I can until the season is over.

Got a call yesterday from my brother who lives on ~70 acres in Flemington, NJ. Call was from a stand as he was finishing the last dear hunt of the season (NJ muzzleloading). Conversation got a little nostalgic as we wondered how many seasons we might have left. Three of us brothers and most all our hunting friends and buds are in our sixties and seventies. Kids and now grandkids show little or no interest in hunting or even any of the shooting sports.

ONE-HUNDRED-FOUR-year-old Otto Shaw enjoyed this year's deer season as he has every season for more than half a century. Otto bought his first hunting permit in 1944; he was 48 at the time. Although Otto is the oldest, there are five other Missouri deer hunters over 95, and 769 hunters 80 or older. Otto didn't even see a deer until he was 14 years old, as the Midwestern deer population had been decimated by market hunting and deer were a rare sight for the first half of the 20th century in Missouri. Missouri's first population count in 1925 estimated there were less than 400 deer in the entire state.
