Anyone shot the Horton Vision?
I was at a hunting show over the weekend and saw the vision by Horton looks like a reverse limbed crossbow. The thing was wild looking! Just wondered if anybody owns one or how they shoot?
Re: Anyone shot the Horton Vision?
No but I have something faster.

Re: Anyone shot the Horton Vision?
These are my findings. Bear in mind that I will probably never us this for hunting but it is quite amusing and will be part of the history of crossbows. The way of the future of mainstream crossbows. But, nothing will take away my Excaliburs for hunting. Nothing takes away from the beauty, grace, accuracy and ultimately reliability of my Excalburs!Pinpoint wrote:Boo, what is that?? You are looking at a Scorpyd (an RDT125), the RDT165 is coming out this spring and is rated at over 450 ft/sec with 350(?) gr arrow.
Accuracy of this is quite good. Hitting golf balls at 30 yards is easy.
The chronograph was an Archery Chrony F1, I made 4 arrows with the intent to clock 3 of them. They were Lazer IIs, aluninum insert and plastic half moon nock. With a 125 gr tip total weight was (1)349, (2)348 and (3)351. I used 2" Fusion vanes and shot about 3.5' from the chrony.
arrow
1) 384, 383, 381, 382
2) 382, 381, 383, 381
3) 384, 382, 384, 381
Lazer II with a brass insert, filed rear nock and blazers. It weighed in at 440 gr with a 100 gr tip.
Speeds were 344, 343, 345, 343

Thanks for that link bkisel. That website looks to have lots of good info.
That bow is crazy Boo, but I think that 450 ft/s is a little over the top!! I guess the question is how many deer do you want your arrow to pass through!!
I agree, I am going to stick with my excal, I like the way it looks better. Even though I'm new to this sport I also am very happy with the way mine shoots!!!

I was told these reverse limb xbows have very little hand shock & are very quiet.I love my equinox but I sure would love to shoot that bow of yours Boo!
Re: Anyone shot the Horton Vision?
Just seen a fellow shooting one at a 3d shoot near Windsor last weekend . Very quiet . I think he said it was only 125 # draw weight .
Re: Anyone shot the Horton Vision?
farmer, you caught me red handed.it is indeed 125 lb draw. I assume you will be at the shoot in Windsor on Sunday. we are looking forward to it.

All you need to do now is teach those deer how to hold a golf ball in their mouth.Boo wrote: Hitting golf balls at 30 yards is easy.
I'm willing to bet there was some dead golf balls and a empty bottle of skeech in that picture before it was trimmed.
I'd rather wear out than rust out.

Yea, but what about the Screech Boo?
I watched the Kid shooting that Scopyd at the Port colborne 3D and it was quite nice and quiet.
Seemed to shoot about the same speed as my Equinox there though. But I think they are faster, no doubt!

I have to weigh my bolts down to be shooting under 350 fps witch is the OAA ruling for crossbows. right now I'm shooting 427 grain bolts at 346-349 fps
