You lucky devils. I have to wait until the end of October for any hunting to begin.
Unless they change the hunting rules for crossbows in Nova Scotia. Maybe in September.
I HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
I am getting tired of shooting target bags and they are hard to chew and don't taste very good. LOL

Yep, Monday April 26th. It still tends to get to be very busy on public properties, even thought it's a weekday, if that's the only access you have. I tend to wait at least two weeks into the season before I'll go check out any public properties if I'm not seeing anything on the private properties I hunt.

Maybe if you use feed bags, it might improve the taste part of it.

Can't wait for this season!! Gained access to a property that has never been turkey hunted before. And another that is getting more as the years get on.

Raymond:
It is great to have a spring season. It gets the adrenalin flowing for the rest of the year. A fall season for turkey was brought in. I am hoping it is not the thin edge of the wedge to swing the whole turkey hunt to the fall. The fall hunt includes hens. When i suggested that there is a lot going on in the fall, if more harvest is desired, open the spring season earlier to include a portion of the time to hen harvest. I was told that wouldn't be good because hens would be harvested and thus unable to nest. That is a very interesting approach as I felt that the hens harvested in the fall wouldn't nest the following spring either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! duh.
I would hope that the fall season is poorly patronized and more suggestion is made for an extended earlier spring hen season to achieve the same end.
Time will tell.
