Last run at Geese for the season

Post by Pydpiper »

Going to spend opening morning with my son in an attempt to shoot some geese, I have a field where the geese have been landing like clockwork for almost a month, they leave the water on one of my hunting properties and land on another, a couple kilometers away.
My experience with goose hunting is pretty much limited to one outing, in a big goose chair grinning like a fool.
I am going to be sitting beside my 7 year old son, some borrowed decoys and sitting in the same chair, I can only hope my son gets half the smiles I did my first time out. :D
All I am missing is a call or two, I will pick some up tomorrow. I can learn to call like a pro in less than 24 hours, right?

Anybody else going out?

Hope you and your son have a great time. :) Sure would love to go with you, waterfowl hunting is my favorite time. Love to call those geese into the deeks. It's like airplanes coming in   Have a great hunt and let us know about it.
I am a hunter and proud of it.

Lack of scouting will probably keep me away for this one :(

Took my daughter to work today, bought an idiot proof goose call on the way home. Stopped by the field to see if the birds where still hanging around. My daughters jaw dropped when see seen all 1000+ geese checking us out, they all started to sound off but never moved.
She looked at me and said "where are we going to put them all?" :D
Tomorrow is going to be a good day.

There's nothing more exciting than seeing those geese flip and set their wings! I know you'll have fun.

John you should have let me know. I would have driven to the falls for some geese action. There are a few buzzing my house every night before dark. I am going to be waiting with my shotgun this aft for them. I will see if I can put them in the back of the truck
