How many have got a garden started, this is my lower 40, with onions, squash, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, lima and wax beans, this is all I want to work, good stuff
It was 34 F here this am and chances of getting colder tomorrow morning.
I've put off planting until next w/e, though I did spread a load of yr old chicken manure on my garden today.
Nice looking garden, Wes. I usually plant one similar to that but not this year. I am going to plant my greenhouse with some cucumbers and tomatoes. Can't plant a garden this year, I have my date for the hospital, it is May 31st.

I've planted 19 rows (120' per row) of sweet corn, a couple of peas and about 2 dozen potatoes. The rest waits and now I worry whether or not the corn will make it. It came up nice and will take some frost but this is almost too cold now. At 10:00 this morning my wife could pick up the ice from the bird bath as it was still pretty strong. Supposed to be colder tonight so it may be bye-bye to the corn. If so, I probably won't replant. I'm more concerned over the fruit trees. Looks like it might not be too good of a year.
This brings up a good point. The maple syrup season was a bust this year; the poorest ever for this area. An old saying is like, "So goes the maple syrup season, so goes the farm crops." No, it doesn't look too great right now. We have barely enough moisture and usually now there is lots of standing water in our woods. This year there is no standing water. The neighbor's pond looks more like late June levels.
Looks good, and even a crop layout plan. I am just turning over my plot today. I sure enjoy a garden, seems I inherited that from my grandfather. My garlic and onions are looking awesome so far and my taste buds are craving the mustard my wife makes from the peppers.
Farmer Wes! Your plot is as big or bigger than some people's house lots in the city of Toronto! Have fun Wes, never pictured you in overalls, straw hat and straw between your teeth!
