This Year's Crop Is Looking Good ...

Post by Grizzly Adam »

... and can be harvested in November ... during first season. :P

Not an old'un or a big'un ... but should be pushing 400 lbs. by then.

Lookin' healthy! That corn is 18" high.

They're everywhere right now. Wheat to the east, corn comin' on.

Gonna be a lively summer.

So how high are your bears this time of year? :?: :P

Our growing season is far advanced compared to yours.

In this humid-subtropical climate zone, we have 225-300 frost-free days.

They'll be picking most corn around here by mid-August, if not before. I've seen some picked in early August.

In addition to planting early, farmers plant varieties that mature quickly, and get it out early ... because of hurricanes.

The bears are like weeds ... we've tried Roundup, but it doesn't seem to work. :P
