Re: Cloudy On the Farm Today
I haven't yet acquired a Thermacell, Bob.
My Hoosier brother gives them a glowing field report.
Fortunately, these gnats didn't want to bother me ... in fact I was bothering them!
While writing on a commencement address, I saw distant clouds of the gnats from my study window ... and being little inclined to work ( ) when I could instead be investigating some wonder of our wilds, I leaped to my feet, stuffed them into my "service ready" wellingtons at the door, and headed for the clouds!
When closely approached, these little (and I do mean little) buggers just dispersed, let me pass, and quickly reformed. I think I was crashing their party.
They hung there in their clouds for about an hour ... just now cleared out.
Interesting.
Back to work.
Sigh.

Yeah ... this 2010 commencement address is going to be fun, for sure.bstout wrote:Well, As long as you're having fun!
I'll be speaking to a range of graduates varying in age from 18 to 56, including:
Regular high-school graduates
Regular college graduates
A Naval-Academy graduate
Single-mom college graduates
Career-change working moms
Post-graduate new career grannys
My job today is to phrase remarks elastic enough to embrace the group, and specific enough to touch the individuals within it.
That's all!
At least there's a banquet afterward.

And to think of all the time I've spent creating gnats recently -
(Griffin's gnats, that is. )
