Vixen II here. Fits me better and is light. Shoots like a dream and I just like it!! I started with an Ibex and got a deer with it. It was my favorite until I handled the Vixen.

There is no wrong Excalibur, just one that may fit you better than the rest! You need to handle them and get a feel for which one shoulders the best and what draw weight you can pull. There are alot of choices. Your best bet is to go to a shop and shoot a couple of them.

For me, It is my Y25! A great feel and more than enough speed for this speed freak :P

Phoenix. Perfect balance of power, ease of maintenance and easy cocking (for me), it's the bow I pick up to shoot near daily. Of the three bows I own (Vortex and fast compound) it follows me hunting most often because it's the most accurate (great trigger).
I love a TH stock and would 'update' to an Ibex but don't want to chance getting a lesser trigger.
Vortex, Phoenix, single-shot rifles and handguns.
Incurable tinkerer.
Why hunt? Simple, it's BASIC. Why breath?!

How heavy an arrow do you want to shoot ? How fast do you wish that arrow to go ? How much weight do you want out in front of you ? What stock do you prefer ? I personally shoot an old carved tip limbed Vixen its lite & although i don't let many ppl knowed its the fastest thing around! Don't want all those big pound limb benders to know that, they may go to whining & crying don't cha knowed! Comfort is the name easy moving no strain !

And don't forget.....when you get your new bow you must put it in several poses and take pictures, then post them for us to see. :D :D

Many start out with an Exomax and work their way up to a Vixen.
No typo there, guilty as charged!! My 1st Excal was the Emax ["More power, Captain", in Star Trek voice].

Could have saved a bunch of loot if I'd known 'Bob's Yer Uncle'

Vixens are looking good. The 10 dollar donation to breast cancer research is nice, but I'm not too sure about pink-the Turkeys would see me way before I see them.

No right or wrong choice find the one that suits your needs and body size.
I have been through three models and settled with the Phoenix.
Go to a bow shop and try a few or put out a request for members in your area many will be happy to show you theirs and let you shoot it as well.

For deer hunting it would have to be the Exocete... it comes standard with a Deer Magnet. :)

Well, my thanks to everyone-I don't know if it will work, but I got what I think is a great deal on a Phoenix. If it every shows up at my house I will let you know how it is. Got the full kit for 300-seemed like the price was right! Wish me luck on getting it into my own hands.
