Modern Day Pterodactyl

Post by Limbs and Sticks »

I knew where there was a blue heron nest, but hadn't been back in 15,16 yrs, so made a call to the person who owns the land and got a invite, boy was I surprised, there's 18 to 20 nest around this swamp now, seems like they were ever where looked pretty 8) to me.

we have a few of them down here as well thy ae called a roukery not sure on the spelling .thy are neat to see .we had a large group of nest here that got destroyed in the tornado a few years back but thy have moved a few miles down the road and are doing well again .at one time we shot all we could of them at the trout farm .thy would stand on the wall and spear the fish iot would not have been so bad if thy just speared one and eat it but thy spear about 10 fish just to get one and when you have 25 or 20 of them standing in a row in the wall for hours on end it realy gets you in the pocket book .we are out of the fish now and i do like to see them around .just have to be carfull walking aroun d under them when there is yough birds in the nest haha DUTCH

cool pics but Im not a fan of that bird..It like Dutch said is a fish killn Havoc rakn fool on fish.. I hate them...AND If you ever shoot one and you have a dog with you make sure the bird is dead because-----If the dog runs up on a wounded one that cant flee. the bird will poke him right in the eye with that fish killn beak he has. I heard a few years back on the news a guy had one that was abanded by its parents. raised it from little. I dont know how old it was but he was messing with it and it poked him threw his eye into his brain and killed him..Nasty bird...but cool pics Limbs and Bolts
