BTW, I ordered a Moultie D55 on your recommendation. From what I read on various forums it's quite a good cam. Lot's of people impressed. I'm just a bit timid of buying something in that price range. Fifty yards and 5 megs, pretty impressive and all for less than $100!

in cooler air it should sense farther out also.. its doing good if its picking up at 50yards in the humid weather.. thats better than the top end cams for only 100bucks
I was looking at the reviews from customers on Cabelas for the D-55IR(Not like that holds alot of water) Some people were giving the Cam Bad reviews for the IR version. Anyone have any idea how true that is. For $120 for IR, I may have to snatch that up if its good. I have a Leaf River now. Deer in my area get a tude with a flash in their eyes.
The deer will get use to the flash. The IR gives Bucks the fidgits quick fast & in a hurry from what i have read. The blk flash seems to be less invasive. Personally don't matter wether they like the cam or not, come Fall i will give them a dirt nap & a free ride to my freezer
Thanks for looking, I know the I40,I60 ir cams by moultrie have a little shutter click it's not sharp but dull, the deer most the time freeze looking at the cam, I can hear it. Flash here doesn't bother them much, once in awhile if their to close it scares the hell out of them. The d55 that Don ordered are going to sell quick, Basspro in Richmond Va. sold over 7000 d40 cams, not made anymore, the d55 is going to do better. When I get a big buck pic I'll post it for sure.
What are they eating in front of that corn where the dirt looks worked?
Corn only about 6 to 10 in. tall, tender
Wes
should be dead like all the rest of our corn down the road.... yall did get more rain than we did though.. corns a total loss here
Vixen is right on though. Doesnt matter if its flash or IR since they will see the glow from the IR as well. The flash is more of a sudden pop and its gone. The IR red glow lingers for a second. Ive had just as many deer pick up on the IR as the flash. Hardly any spooked though. Even the mature deer seemed to actaully like the flash over the IR for me. Maybe they just liked their pic taken though
Boo, good reviews... for 100 bucks and great battery life you cant beat that. Im blown away by the 50 yard range
