The Exomax is HERE!!

Post by Big Pard »

Well guys, she arrived today. I did notice it came with 150gr. field points. How many guys shoot the 150gr. heads? Will it hurt to shoot te 100gr. heads on the supplied bolts? Has anyone tried the 150gr. Bolt Sonic?

Congrats!

No problem shooting the 100 gr field tips with the supplied arrows. Just make sure the arrow is in there before you pull the trigger. If not, then there is a club you will be forced to join, by default.

I have not shot the Sonic.

Have fun!

Congrats on the new bow! I have used the 150g heads on my arrows that didnt have the brass front inserts and they worked well.

Sounds like you got 'firebolts' w/ it. The 150 gr points are to up the FOC for bheads since the Firebolts have alum inserts.

Enjoy the Beast! [pet name for mine]

As long as you keep your weight above 350 gr total weight you are good to go.

Well since the Fire Bolt weighs around 267gr, then any broadhead 100 gr. or up will work. Actually, an 85 gr would work but thats cutting it too close for me. Since I'm new does any Exomax shooters have any broadhead suggestions using Fire Bolts and Excel string (which I'll soon be replacing)

Congrats and good luck with your new CB. Watch for serving wear. I've got the lighter Exocet model and have had serving wear issues.

I got 3 deer last year with my exomax with the 150 grain boltcutter heads. It shoots great with them out to 30 yds. All 3 deer died within sight of my stands.I was using CF's aluminum arrows and a custom boo string. I am going to try some lumenoks this year. It's tough seeing the bolts go thru the deer.

With the exomax, you shoot shoot a heavier arrow than the 350 grain minimum.
The fire bolts with the 150 grain heads should be okay.
