Built some new bolts today.
I replaced the front inserts with brass, and the rears with Lumi nocks. Then I put my new bitzenburger to the test. I'm very please with it

Wow! Some really nice looking arrows you have there. Been using a Bitz for literally decades, RW helical, and have not found the need or desire for any other jig.

Re: Built some new bolts today.
I hadn't tried the method, but, I was told to put a piece of metal(maybe a drill bit, something that fits) in the open end. Then sling it toward the nock end. Kind of like hammering from the inside. Of course, that means you already have the insert out.FredBear wrote:I used a vise, a field point, and a small torchgerald strine wrote:nice job what kind of shafts are those how did you get the nock and insert out steam?
Make sure you are "throwing" it in a safe direction . . .otherwise, when it comes out, it goes for a ride.
I'd rather wear out than rust out.

oye shtill mitt za bolts?
Re: Built some new bolts today.
I have never heard that one! I dont know how well it would work, but it would be worth a try. When using the torch you have to keep the flame at a 90 degree angle to the bolt, and only on the field tip. After a few second you just twist the bolt right off the insert. Your done just like that!sumner4991 wrote:I hadn't tried the method, but, I was told to put a piece of metal(maybe a drill bit, something that fits) in the open end. Nice job!!!!!!!
Now shoot them all at the same aiming point in the target and see if you can get a "robin hood".
