Decades ago used them on my Bear Super Magnum recurve. No performance hits or noise benefits that I can recall. I've used camo tape in the past on trad bows - no detectable effect. I currently have Rattle Snake skins on my Bob Lee longbow - again I can not detect any difference in performance or noise compared to when it was skinless.

Take care...

I use black limbcovers for turkey hunting[while hunting out of my double bull blind] i took a black t-shirt cut two equal pieces and sewed them on my Exocet. I found under some light conditions my camo limbs would make turkeys see you before the shot.Hunting with all black on including limb covers makes a difference.Come archery season[deer] i just cut them off i checked my bow out to 50yrds no change point of impact.

I found that velcro ones make too much noise...not during the shot ..during the reload. thats why i sewed them on.i thank you for the offer. but im going to stick with what works for me! turkeys at 10yrds or less teach you lots of tricks!just passing on what i found afield. Black limbs covers.black face mask, black top = dead things!!! good luck afield!

Did you make them fit real tight or loose?

The removable ones will have elastic at both ends and sewn down the length.

I use only a black cotton shirt material. there not sewed on real tight but tight enough so the dont slip towards the limbs ends. this way i dont have to unstring my bow and go through shooting in back in!!! im not skilled at sewing and it takes me only 5min a limb.

Years ago I used limb covers on a bear whitetail bow and noticed that when hunting in the rain there was a difference in the way the bow shot. I assummed it was from the water that the material had soaked up so I quickly removed them and put camo tape on the bow. Remember those old bows probably shot around 180 FPS so that may have contributed to the performance difference.

I really like limb covers but was told excalibur has stopped making them. So I guess I will have to make my own. Does anyone know what type of materal to use ? I don't think they cause accuray issues.
