I'd suggest to designate an honest veteran member to moderate the spam?

Set the system up so that once its reported as spam that username can no longer post... One guy had 36 posts on shoes since the 1st of aug

I understand everyone is busy at excalibur, and this is one way to prevent spam. It seems like its getting out of control since the new forum arrived.

Spam is always a prob on all forums. What really needs to be done is the way we run C3airsoft.com. I am a Mod on that forum and trust me it's a ass pain at times. We get some spam but the bigger problems are it's a forum that attracks alot of "younger" member that post stupid crap not having anything to do with the threads. We hold yearly Mod elections for 3 new Staff members every year. We also have weekely games to monitor but our forum is clean of spam and dumb posts and rules being broken on the forum. Just an idea.

Spam is a pain no doubt about it. If anybody finds spam related posts please pm or email me anytime and I will gladly remove it. This forum moves so fast that its hard to catch the spam. Many members have been great at pointing out the spam for us which has been a big help. I'm always looking at software to help with this problem but the spammers always find away around it.

With your help we can keep on top of the problem.

Thanks,

Peter

Peter,

There is a spammer in almost every thread.

How about a sticky thread to report spammers. That way you only have to check one place and you will not be getting multiple emails and pms on the same poster.

I agree, keep it as simple as ppossible. Fortunately, we have that person, it's Peter. :) We can just make it easy for him by putting all the spammers in the sticky link. Just as easy as a email or pm and Peter doesn't get 50 emails complaining about the same spammer. As a added perk, we can see who has been reported and who has not. 8)

I have never been on a forum that has more trouble with spam then this one. By selecting 2 or 3 respectable members who have been around a long time and get on almost daily could really help to solve this problem.
