Hi,
I just got a used exocet in a trade deal.
I have no idea what year it is or if it has the magtip limbs.
It seems to be only a couple years old but are there any distiguishing marks to find out what year it was made?
How do I recognize magtip limbs?
I bought a string at bass proshops for it because it looks like the one I am replacing that's already on it.
The string I bought for it is excel #1994 because it looked similar and there was only one other choice that looked way different.
I have shot it with the original string it came with and that baby is doing 1" groups at 40 yards all day long, very fast, and powerful.-I am loving it but i just wanna make sure I have the right string because I heard you could ruin the limbs if you don't use a certain string or have magtip limbs, blah, blah.
Here it is if that helps.
What year is my exocet?

they started making them in that camo in 2002. and made it for a couple years before changing camo patterns again.

That bump on the end tells you that they are mag tips. Carved are exactly that: carved notches where the string sits. You bought the right excalibur string.

Judging from the colour of the mainframe (i.e. rail) I would say your Exocet is a 2002. In 2003 Excalibur had to find a new company to do the anodizing and the colour changed from bronze to grey.

I'd love to get the whole mainframe camo'd as well, maybe just the sides not the top rail.

camo'ing the sides will just get marred from rope hooks
