Kinda hot down here

Post by raydaughety »

After a warm, muggy hunt saturday morning, Tyler and I accepted an invitation of a short fishing trip late Saturday evening:

I don't know who has whom :D

He finally got him to the boat

Let me try

Got her :D

Then it happened. As the sun set in the carolina sky, three of the four rods went off at the same time  . It was quite a task but we successfully landed and relaesed all three fish.

And of course the highlight of the trip:

What a great day we had!!!!!

Now thats what a Bull redfish should look like! Looks like ya'll had a great time. I feel you on the kinda hot also. Temps here have been in the 60's in the moring but it don't take long for it to reach in the 90"s. Needless to say the deer aren't moving much. Glad you had a good time fishing though. Good luck!

Bugs, as the servicemen carried my father to his final resting place and played the sad sound of taps on the horn, I remembered thinking of the many things that I wished that I had said and done for my father and I will not make this mistake again. We spend as much time together as possible. If fact, I am joining my daughter for tea in her room before mom serves backstraps and gravy that have been the crockpot all night and day. I'm sure it will be an entertaining evening  .

Yea Sumner and it is scarey for me to think that in just a few short years he will be facing the world on his own. I can only pray that I have instilled the values in him that my father did me. I've told him that he can leave the nest once I'm dead and gone and not a day sooner :D .

Great to see your back is better Ray, I have caught a lot of 'Bull Reds' and I know first hand what they can do to a bad back.

The key is DRAG and plenty of it. The picture of me fighting that fish was kinda staged  . There was a fish on the line but he had already been worn down. There ain't no way that I could have fought those fish like Tyler did. As ya'll may know, these old red drum are protected in NC waters so the correct thing to do is to quickly "wench" em to the boat and then release them as quickly as possible, reducing the amount of stress that is put on these magnificent fish. I'm more into catching trout and flounder as I can get them to the net pretty quickly but all of these fish were citation sized and at and over 50 inched. The flounder are hitting pretty well around our area as well. May have to give them a try Sunday afternoon.
God Bless !!!!!!!!!
