I passed the vision test easily, but I still have problems at times.

I've found the type of lighting you use is very important, and not all people have the ability to see the same.
I have a buddy that has one of those "blood trailing" lights, and he can spot drops of blood easily - I can't see the blood with it!

I use a light with a Cree XP-E LED (Fenix HL20 and can spot blood easily with it.

I'd suggest trying a few different type of illumination when you follow along as your buddy helps. You might find something that will work for you.

Edited to add:
BTW - Don't only look for color, look for texture, too. Moist blood drops on a dry surface can really stand out because they shine.

Have ant of you tried the primos blood hunter?
http://www.primos-bloodhunter.com/

It works vg, but I have normal vision. I think it would be worth a try.

Good Luck, Stosh

I have never tried it but it makes sense to me. If you try it let me know how it works.

I think this would work for blood that is on leaves and brush, but I have had it foam as it contacts dirt. I would seem to give alot of false readings. but no doubt a good thing to have in some circumstances.

Try this one to see exactly how good or bad you really are!

It takes more time, but is really interesting.

I scored 228 on that one. A perfect score is 0. But im not as bad as the worst score of 1500. But that test had me squinting and using my perrifial(sp) eyesight. Glad no one witnessed me taking that test! Good link taxman!

I scored an 8 on that second test. Pretty good I think.
Can't wait to tell the wife. She always looks at the way I'm dresses and tells me that I'm colour blind!

Think I might have her do the test to just for fun. :)

I'm a card carrying member of this club. Exact same as One Shot Scott and hikerman. I've been told I'm missing or deficient in the red colour pigment so anything with red in it I don't see as brilliantly. I can't see blood for anything. If I didn't see where the deer went and it's not close by I'm screwed. I rely on my son and my hunting buddy/neighbour to track for me.

hikerman don't you just love driving at night at Christmas time!! Like you the green light and street light look the same to me. If everything looks the same I just keep on going..lol But as Christmas things get a little tricky.
