One of my dogs got hit by a skunk!

Post by Boo »

Monday night one of my Springers got sprayed by a skunk in the back yard! In the past any solution was anything but perfect so I thought I'd try something different. I dragged her into the tub and sprayed he down with Scent Blocker Carbon Blast. I rubbed it in and let it soak for a couple of minutes. I washed her with shampoo and dried her. Well I was afraid that the chemicals in the Scent Blocker would not last so I haven't mentioned it on this forum but today I put my nose to the spot where she was hit and she is still completely skunk stink free! So I thought I would mention this to you good folks.......just in case!

......Getting ready to open it.

Looks like I'll be investing in some Carbon Blast.

I've successfully used the peroxide/baking soda/dawn detergent recipe a couple of times, but I've also used my hunting scent killer wash and it works too. That skunk smell burns! UGH.

I had an ex-wife who divorced me many years ago. One of the really odd things about her was that she really enjoyed that skunk odor. I always thought something wasn't really right about her.

You're using skunk scent to mask human odor? That would make for some rough hunting. Peeeeeeuuuuuuuu! Gary

My dog got it a few years back. The problem was we couldn't de-skunk the inside of her mouth :x . She must have tried to bite the skunk and it shot her in the face and mouth. She had really bad breath for a month!!!
