How do you quieten the arrow retainer?

Morning guys, what do you put on the arrow retainer to lower the noise it makes?

A lot of guys use mole skin.

I use double walled heat shrink tubing.

I use mole skin that I wrap around the end and half way up a Sims piece of anti vibration rubber.

how much noise does it make i can't hear mine make any noise at all ....that's like guys asking how to quiet there alum arrows on the alum rail, i just don't hear any noise from either ........bob

If not adjusted properly, then it can make a lot of noise. However, if properly adjusted, then it makes very little noise, especially when compared to the rest of the noise from the string.

I like Norm's idea. However, mine is bare-naked.

HI---Hey Boo--could you show us a picture of the heat shrink on the retainer ?
Could you also tell us what the optimum length and diameter of the heat shrink for the best vibration and noise suppression would be. Thank you.

Not a clue as to option anything. I use 3/8" double wall and about 2" long. I heat and then stick an arrow under the arm so it takes the shape of the shaft. As it is cooling I push down on the arm and pull the arrow up and out to form a groove under the arm where it curves up. I'll post a picture when I get home.

It's that long thin metal thingy that you put your arrow under. Without it your arrow falls off.

The reason I'm asking is because on my buck commander it had a piece of rubber on the end of the arrow retainer. I figured it was there to lessen vibration and noise. So I thought maybe I should add one to the Phoenix but didn't know what to use.

only thing i most likely need something on mine is to hold the alum arrows from shifting out from the string a bit....right now i have myself so tuned to checking that the arrow is seated against the string at all times ......bob
