HELP--need a camera

Post by the elf »

HEY people---I need a camera that is
fairly cheap--easy to use [simple]---gives pretty good pictures---idiot proof [ME]. small
and compact--rugged.
I am not a photo bug by any means--my picture composition stinks.
But--I would like to be able to have a record of my adventures fairly cheaply.
My old olympus trip 35 finally died and my wife says that there is no way in hell that I can
drag [ her ] camera through some of the [lovely places I end up].
To make matters worse I am Not technically inclined.Any ideas or suggestions would be
greatly appreciated.---Thanks.

My mom has a cheap little Canon Powershot A495 and it takes good pics. She has the model that has the automatic lens cover that closes when you shut it off, which would be good for in your hunting coat. If my mom can use it , you should be able to as well. Here's a link to them. Gary

I have a couple different models of the Canon Powershot and both take good pics and are easy to use.

Dereck & Adrian---both good ideas--but out of my price range.
It looks like I might have to check out the Canon lineup.

Please keep all ideas and options coming---cheap and simple is good--can't lose
lens cover also good.Water [proof] resistant also good.

Thanks for the ideas and models so far.

I have an Olympus Stylus Tough 3000.

It is waterproof to 10ft, freezeproof & shockproof (which I have tested numerous times  ) & it is a good camera.

It is priced around the $200 range & I think for the money it is worth it.

I also vote for the Canon Powershots . . .look on craigslists or EBay.
I'd rather wear out than rust out.

I have this camera. Since, my brother, brother-in-law, and friend have bought one, very reasonably priced and does exactly what we want. Hunting, fishing, underwater...you name it. It's great for trips etc.

I have a Canon Rebel XSI with 500mm lens for photo shoots, but if you want something inexpensive and durable, while having decent quality the above link should do it.

The Fujifilm is the one I have too. YOU WILL LOVE A WATERPROOF CAMERA! I got mine for under 200 and have loved it very much. It has good and easy setting for a point and shoot. There are better cameras and slr's are awesome, but nothing like taking you camera out fearlessly in the rain or fishing!
Want to buy a K98 Mauser 8mm. If you have an old one sitting around someone brought back from the war please message me!
