FINALLY!! A Doe!!!

Post by JB2010 »

Well, I thot bow season for me was over but today I got a chance to get off work and slip in the woods. I was in the tree about an hour and a doe and 2 yearlings came out. The doe spotted me and started stomping. She calmed down and I drew on her. She blowed and ran off. The yearlings followed but only ran 30 yards and turned broadside! It was time to get my first deer with my Exomax. I shot and my limb caught the cornerpost on the stand I was in and snatched my bow sideways. I knew I hit the deer but not sure where. I pulled out for a few hours and went back. She ran about 40 yards. The shot went in far back but came out behind opposite front shoulder and was a complete pass through. Those spitfire XP's split 2 ribs in half. I was out of meat but will have some now!!! :D

Congrats on getting you a deer! :)
I have one direction in my stand that I have to watch that the left limb doesn't whack the tree too.

Good job on the deer and glad to hear the xcal is still alright. You will watch out for the clearance with those limbs from here on out!
