Latest Leather Project - I'm Hooked

Post by prossbow »

I daydreamed up an idea for the stock of my Browning .270 as it has a number of wear/battle scars.

It's just a prototype, I plan to make another add 1 or 2 more bullet sleeves and better finish etc. And lace it properly. (just noticed it was inconsistent)

By far not professional, but I figure I might as well practice on things I can use rather than just scrap.

Prossbow. Please stop posting leather pics. I'm having a hard time refraining from picking this up as a hobby too! Your pictures don't help me overcome the temptation! :D

Oh well, I do like it though! Are those acorns a stamp? They look cool.
Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. Gen 27:3-4

Thanks guys, I'll take the one pic down. I never thought of it potentially being trouble as I wasn't selling it etc. Either way it's easier this way

Thanks for the kind comments however.

Yes the Acorns are a stamp, the other part was carved and tooled by hand.

Too bad I missed it..
Unless you plan to sell it, there is no issue with using their logo. Better yet, Browning is one of those companies who enjoy seeing people get creative with their design. Matter of fact, they have been known to send free rifles to consumers who get real creative, and they use them in their ads. Last one I remember was a guy who painted the logo on his waterfowl kayak, looked pretty cool and got him a new shotgun. Send them an email..

Thanks piper, I'm going to put the pic back up AND submit it to Browning for their contest. http://www.browning.com/buckmark/index.asp

Nice looking work! I hate it when people just start doing something and can turn out work that looks like they've been doing it for years!

nice work I like to see people who are artistic personalize their stuff, cool and by the way browning encourages people to use their trademark they advertise and say show us your buckmark
