Got into the Roost stand . Named after the turkeys roosting in the trees around there earlier in the season . As I got to the stand and prepared to climb up I had a deer standing at 30-40 yards snorting at me .

Around 8:30 I caught movement to my right . It was a fawn moving from left to right very slowly . Followed by a doe . In the background I could see another deer milling around but did not show itself . When the winds started to do a backdraft towards the deer they started getting alittle spooked . So when the doe presented herself I took the shot .
She went down in about 75-80 yards.

I had Vixchix come over to lend a hand as well as my brother.
Here is Vix helping drag.

Here is Scott relaxing while she drags . Actually it is a picture of him having just broke a limb he tried to sit upon .

Though not the most glamorous of pictures . Here is a picture of us rehashing some hunting experiences . No embellishing here.

Well we fast forward to Sunday.
Dad decide he wanted to sit in the Low ladder stand . At about 7:10 he had a buck come in with his nose to the ground oblivious of his surrroundings . Dad tried stopping with a loud grunt but this guy would have none of it . He was on a mission and it was not stopping for a grunt from a tree . The doe he was following must have turned to Dads favour and stopped in one of his shooting windows . With a steady shot he was off on a flat out run .
We waited until 8:30 to come over to help track . For we had deer moving around us as well .
After a relatively short track we came upon him . Dad made a phone call to say we may be a little delayed coming home .

Time for the Old Buck to feel like a Hollywood star .

Us Rednecks use a different type of grocery cart to bring our groceries home .

After a GREAT weekend we had a celebration drink .
