doe down

Post by spitfire125 »

Well what a night. my dad and cousin , failed to join me tonight for a hunt on the property i hunt. They decided to go to a different wmu to hunt. So i strolled on out myself, just had that feeling tonight.Well the feeling was true i had a total of 7 deer come to me tonight. I watched every one come out of the bedding area one at a time. All seven walked by my dads and cousin stands. So i pulled up on the biggest doe at 25 yrds broadside. Watched my arrow catch a small limb and rip one of my fletches off my arrow, then watched it enter the sweet spot. The spitfire 125 grn, did its job, leaving a gaping hole on the exit side taking out the top of the heart. It was an easy 35 yrd recovery.
I hauled her out and got her back to my fathers place in the cradle, even before my dad and cousin got back from there hunt. The look on my dads face was priceless, when he stepped out his truck. I kindly stuck out my hand and shook his and said thanks for going to your hunting property tonight, because if him or my cousin would have went with me, they would have put the deer out of their beds walking to there stands. pics to follow

Congratulations on the doe! Very lucky though the limb didn't through the shot off! Glad luck was on your side and not the deers
