Body Heater Suit or Warmbag

Post by BryanOney »

Anyone ever use either of these products to hunt in and stay warm. The BHS is 150 dollars more than the WB. Is it worth the extra cost. I need something to help me stay warm and seated on the deer stand for long hours in January. I will be using these with a Summit climbing tree stand. Thanks

Never used either. However, I like the warm bag better on paper. Simply because it's water proof. The Heater Body Suit is water resistant . . .which means if water gets on it, then it will get wet . . .that goes for melting snow too. Not sure if that's an issue for you . . .but, I like water proof aspect.

Both look warm. The older I get, the colder I get.
I'd rather wear out than rust out.

I'll be able to give you a review on the Warmbag after my Ohio hunt this coming weekend. I bought a boatload of hand warmer packs for all my pockets and plan to stay on stand all day. I just couldn't justify the cost of the Heater body suit because of the heft, no arm holes and not waterproof.

I got the Warmbag a couple of days ago and I love the way it feels and how easy the zippers are to operate. There is a neat inside cord to use when you want the armholes to open with a minimum of movement. I also like the hidden strap to use if you want to open the bottom, hike it up and walk around.

Looks like you're going to get a chance to test it!
Temps will be rising as the week goes along, but it's going to be cold for a few days.

I'd pick the bag, as it will probably feel warmer with both feet/legs in the same space. The suit with legs means more surface area to loose heat.

Never used either but I like the looks of the warmbag also. I think it would be much easier to shoot thru armhole than opening the other one and peeling it half off. Waterproof is a real bonus as well.

I'll be looking forward to your product review Laura!! :)

Glad I seen this post.
I was ready to Buy the Body Heater Suit

Now I will definatley go for the warmbag.

Cheaper, waterproof, better design, and I guess its just as effective, especially if it gets wet!

I bought the Warmbag and was very disappointed in it.I am sending it back for a refund.First of all I ordered according to their size chart and the bag is too tight and I could barely stand in it.It is too confining for me.I am 6"1" and 240 lbs and ordered the large. They are not made for a broad shouldered man.I tried it on stand and my feet got cold.I had a Buck within 25 yds.and opened the arm zippers,he heard it.They are loud.I am going with the Cabelas MT050 Extreme Whitetail Coveralls instead.Truth is I have friends who have The body heater suit and love it.I just do not like sitting 20 feet up a tree with my arms confined.I bought some LaCrosse Boots insulated with 2000 grams of thinsulate ultra and this is the first time my feet never got cold on stand yesterday afternoon.

WARMBAG is fine for me. i like it a lot.its warm, windproof, rainproof.you can wear it in /out.not heavy.
its quiet .
zippers are hard to get used to while sitting.
standing,NO PROBLEM.you have to practice.
a nice large floor on your stand is nice as you shuffle your feet.
its nice too not have to wear a lot of heavy clothes and jacket. i hate jackets.

ARM zippers while sitting ,YOU HAVE TO PRACTICE USING THEM.
INSIDE POCKETS ARE NICE FOR HANDWARMERS/SANDWICHS and other things.

i am 6/1 210,i like xl warmbag, some like the large.
they are on sale now for 199.00.

I wish we could trade a bit of your cold weather for your hot down here  My cotton realtree shirts too hot
Even the grass and weeds are dying off here. I was trying to sneak up on some rabbits the other day, but the grounds so dry, it sounded like I was stomping through a big pit of crunchy cornflakes.

I tested the Warmbag last weekend and I am really happy with it. You need to practice unzipping the arms so you can do it quickly but once you know how to do it, it is easy. I like it for it's light weight and that it keeps the warm in when you pull your arms out to shoot. Putting a boatload of hot-hands all over yourself can even cut down on the layers of clothes you would normally wear in frigid weather. The price is another attractive feature. Wind proof, water proof and quiet. Here are a couple of vids to compare.
