Dry Fired my Equinox

Post by mchurch »

I finally joined the club:). I was distracted and did it. I kept shooting it and it shot as great as ever. When I got home. I got a cotton ball and found a tiny sliver. I have a hunt planned this Saturday for wild pigs. I have a fast flight string and an STS.Everything else but the STS rubber bumpers seemed fine. With this tiny sliver is it still ok to keep the bow cocked all day? Part of the frustration is that these limbs are brand new. I just put them on. I had a larger sliver develop for no apparent reason and Danny Miller sent me these new ones a matter of a few weeks ago. I know why this one came about.

Heck make sure its sighted in shoot it & watch the sliver area heck hunt with it. Unless its a big sliver or split i would make my hunt & worry about the limbs later

I developed a splinter in my Exocet a while back and called Danny Miller. He told me as long as it was no bigger than a toothpick, just snap off the splinter, go hunting and send the limbs to him at the end of the hunting season. Most splinters are the top layer of paint/laminate and not the actual limb itself.

Sorry to hear of the splintering. It seems that most often when a limb splinters its when there is a FFF string on the bow.

Just lightly sand it out and the limb will be fine.
