I've owned a couple different brands, but I use a Bushnell 450 exclusively now.
Not all the "bells and whistles" of more expensive models, but it does all I require.
(gives me an accurate yardage measurement every time)

For anyone interested in looking at or buying new Simmons rangefinder, it is the cheapest I have seen, and yes, it gives accurate measurements every time. I bought one brand new off of ebay for what came out to a little over 100 bucks Canadian. However, I have 2 main problems with it

-It is not light gathering, so if you look through it in the evening, it will appear darker
-and its readout is not illuminated. So when it is dark, and the rangefinder makes it even darker, you can not hope to see the numbers!

Spend 50 more and get a little bit better one.
Want to buy a K98 Mauser 8mm. If you have an old one sitting around someone brought back from the war please message me!

Bought an r400 for my nephew. It works OK, but the numbers are small and a little hard to read with my aging eyes. It ranges exactly the same as my Nikon

I picked up a Camo Nikon Laser 800 last fall at Gander Mountain in Pt Huron. Was on sale for $200.00 US. Used it last year during the deer season and this year for turkey and deer. Still on the original battery that came with it. Has illumination and large display numbers and is very accurate. A buddy of mine picked up a cheaper range finder on sale and goes through batteries like crazy.... Very happy with mine

I use Nikon Products. Prostaff 550. $189 ...I use mine from 10 yard archery hunts in Michigan all the way out west in Colorado. The 550 is plenty for my shooting range. It has even brought me some 50 yard kills with my Exomax :D

Good Luck!

FYI. If you get a range finder with good glass in 6X instead of 4X you just might be able to leave your binos at home. One less thing to carry into the field.
