That's why I always wear my harness. I'd fall out of the tree if that monster came in. What a beauty!

YAY Ken! CONGRATULATIONS on the buck!!!

I'm so glad you posted! I didn't want to break your good news.

Seeing a pile of deer was great, but getting to see this buck on the ground was the icing on the cake! Ken puts in endless hours of work to get to these deer. We don't read much here about all the sweat equity that goes into his hunts - we just see the famous garage photos. :D

Congrats again on the fabulous buck!!! And thanks for letting us share in the experience!

Congrats Ken on the buck! Mo had a great time with you guys yesterday. We were talking about the day when she got home last night and the next thing I know she's still sitting up on the couch but she's sound asleep. :) Definitely the sign of a good day in the outdoors!

Congratulations to the hunters!! Beautiful buck!! Just beautiful!!

I think you brought Ken the good luck Monica.
Bet he poured you one of those famous deer shooters in the garage. What is that stuff anyhow? Looks different! Not one of those girly drinks I hope!!

Am just glad I didn't jinx Ken's luck!

When Ken came to pick me up he asked all about the deer I saw, whether or not I could have had a shot, he wanted to hear all about it.

He lowered the tailgate to put my gear in the back of the truck and casually said something like: "Oh don't worry about packing it in there, we'll have to repack it all to make room for my 10 point".

Ken has got quite the sense of humour so I thought he was pulling my leg.

Mo: "Yeah right. So when did you shoot this buck?"

Ken: "Just now"

Mo: "Right....."

Ken's pretty cool and calm, but he seemed just a tiny bit antsy so I asked if he really was serious. He said he was. I'm still thinking that maybe he was just in a rush to get back home to get a bowl of that wonderful chili he had waiting for us.

Then he said he wanted to hurry back to get the buck out before the coyotes got to him and I started to think maybe, just maybe, he wasn't just kidding around.

When he added that he'd left his coat lying over the buck in hopes of deterring the coyotes, I finally realized he really had shot a buck! :!:

Roland was far more perceptive. When we picked him up he immediately noticed the bloody arrow in the quiver behind Ken's seat. He figured it out before Ken told him. :D

BTW, the secret drink is a secret...

Way to go Ken. Great to be able to hunt with friends and cover some ground. Never hurts to have an extra set of eyes (and a bow) in the woods. :D
