Current and previous Ibex owners- speak out!

Post by liberty1743 »

Hi everyone, I'm giving up my compound bow for a crossbow. I started out wanting an Equinox, then I moved to a Vortex, but now I think all I really NEED is an Ibex. I need it to be powerful enough to kill anything I hunt in Ohio, New York, and Vermont, but I want to be able to practice without straining too much. From what I've read, 175 lbs. is enough. With that said, I would like to hear some feedback from Ibex owners and/or previous owners (as the case may be) before I buy anything. Thanks in advance!

I started out with an Ibex and got a buck the first year with it. I was in love with it and had no intention of using anything else.....until I tried the Vixen II. The difference between the two was perfect for me and turned out to be a perfect for Dave too. He killed a buck with the Ibex this year and I killed a buck with the Vixen II. If I was taller and stronger I probably wouldn't have switched.....but maybe I would have. They are both fun to shoot and both get the job done. I gifted an Ibex to someone because it is the perfect size and fit for many people. I don't know anyone who isn't happy with the Ibex, Phoenix or Vixen II. Or any of the others for that matter.

I bought my ibex in july,so this is my first season hunting with it and I LOVE it!!!
It's deadly accurate, smooth to cock, and has all the power you will ever need!!
I've taken two deer and two hog's so far...one of the hogs was a 140lb boar,28yd shot angling away...buried the arrow to the nock!! I would say that's pretty good power!
I would hunt any thing in N. America and not feel under gunned at normal bowhunting range!!
Good Luck!!

Wood is sexy. It also dampens some of the sound. But mostly its just sexy.

I dont see how you can go wrong with a Ibex. I have shot and hunted quiet a bit with one. Very accurate, easy to cock, fairly light weight. Last year i took 3 deer and 2 turkeys with mine.

I bought my Ibex in august and just love it. Very easy to cock and shoot very accurate. I am short so this xb fit me very well and it has plenty of power. Good luck with your decision you can't go wrong with any excalibur you decide to buy they are the best.

Good Luck

Is there any concern at all about distance when comparing the Ibex to the Vortex?

g'day. the distance is a bee's dick over 40 yards, they are both great xbows my bow of choice is the 175 lb's you can shoot them all day long much less stress (limbs & strings) there awesome. regards frank
