Re: cheek piece..
Those are great in a pinch. But I wanted something a little more permanent, so I watch ebay and have grabbed several brand new ones for $10 a piece. Some Sellers will start bidding low in hopes of pulling in more bidders. Sometimes that practice works, sometimes it doesn't
Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. Gen 27:3-4

Here is mine 1 inch inside Dia. tubing with foam inside to off set it towards the left side.
Boo hooked me up with some soft camo sticker to put on it and it works awesome

Re: cheek piece..
I used one on my bows...until I discovered the sound that unshaven whiskers make against it on a cool morning could scare a deer in the next county. But hey, if you're happy, I'm happy.

Is that the plastic cheek piece you're talking about or the foam?Cossack wrote:I used one on my bows...until I discovered the sound that unshaven whiskers make against it on a cool morning could scare a deer in the next county. But hey, if you're happy, I'm happy.
Since I stop shaving about Sept 1st and start again around March, I can not speak about unshaven whisker noise on a cheek piece!
The plastic cheek pieces feel just as good as any cheek piece to me.
If you must have the plastic one, and you want it cheep, be prepared to wait on a Seller on ebay. About once a month I see a Seller start the bidding very low. Most are going for full price. Just be patient and you should be able to score a cheep cheek piece...or any other piece of equipment! (like a brand new 3 pack of 125 grain G5 Strikers for $16!)

There is deals on Ebay but you have to keep on a eye on the shipping costs.. Sometimes the sellers like to inflate the cost a LITTLEOkXbowHunter wrote:

The plastic works fine not much different than the stock itself but I now have a camo material similar to mole skin for silencing bow parts it is soft and quiet.
One complaint I had with just the foam was if you had even a little stubble of a beard it was very load when adjusting into the stock for a shot.

ditto. The plastic one gives me absolutely great scope-eye alignment and won't come off unintentionally.

Re: cheek piece..
IMO, Excalibur puts too much drop in the comb of their stocks. I wish they offered several sizes for cheek pieces like they do for stock extentions. HINT HINT!
Anyway, after puttng the cheek piece on the stock, I added "Bondo" layers to the top and sides of the cheek piece. After the Bondo cured, I sanded it to a proper shape so that my eye is in perfect alignment with the scope when I shoulder the Excalibur. I painted with flat leftover paints and then stuck on a piece of soft grip fabric. Now the "fit" is dead on for me. Bascially I doubled the amount of height from the accessory cheek piece to get the proper fit..

I put the Excal cheek piece on my Votex and it put my eye directly on the right spot when I rest against it to shoot.

Re: cheek piece..
the excalibur cheek piece is too expensive for what it is and should be included with every bow. even a $10 markup on the bows would be acceptable to cover costs. for $30 i'd expect to see an adjustable cheek piece...
a piece of pipe insulation with automotive 2 sided tape (for window vents and wind deflectors) works like a charm. i've had the same piece on mine for 4-5 years and it hasnt moved at all.
