As long as we're going all medievil, :twisted: (what with crossbow shooting bolts), long bows should be considered flame-throwers since they used it as such back when that rascal and his merry men was rob'n hoods. yo

If we are not "firing" our bows then where did the expression "Fire in the bow" come from. I think I am confused....

Hehehehe, of course no one here has ever shot any of these before, big money keeps things as they are, pretty soon all STATES will have a good XBOW season regardless what you call-um sticks, arrows, bolts

the people that make and sell them call them bolts, so that's what i call them too. if you look up bolt on dictionary.com, you'll see this:

11. an arrow, especially a short, heavy one for a crossbow.

and for an arrow:

2. anything resembling an arrow in form, function, or character.

a bolt is a type of arrow intended for a crossbow. yes, crossbows do shoot arrows, but calling them a bolt is the proper term. if you look at the definitions, arrow is a broad term while bolt refers specifically to a crossbow arrow.
