I for one hope all the comparing continues! Makes for a very good thread and keeps us all thinking of ways to improve. :D I was going to ask how many fps does it take to change the poi keeping all other varibles the same at 30 yards? Maybe another day.

Norm, I think after adjusting the brace heights equally, more testing is necessary.
Do you think the Blaze Orange colour you made it with has anything to do with the results  :)

I think the whole concept of wax is wrong.
My string has been on my bow for over 2 years, it has been heated, frozen, pushed through thickets, dragged through mud and shot the heck out of, it is still in the same condition it was when I got it used two years ago. Outside of when it was made it has never seen wax, never, not once.
OK, not the same condition, it is really, really dirty.

David . . .every bow is slightly different, so are the strings. The amount of pressure against the rail is different for each string(thinner string, less pressure) and bow combo. The stroke makes a difference. Anyway, when I was doing testing for Danny Miller, I shot several servings with wax and one without wax. Here are my notes from that part of the testing. . .

"I did this test without waxing the serving. See the write-up on the other test.
No waxing/lubricating . . .215 shots
Waxing/lubricating every 30 shots . . .averaged 290 shots
Waxing/lubricating every 20 shots got 338 shots"

Same bow(Exomax), same string material, same serving material, same wax, and same arrows.

If Norm continues to shoot his test string without wax, then maybe we will have another comparison to make. I only did the testing because Danny Miller wasn't a fan of wax. I just wanted to see for myself. I've been waxing ever since. Of course, that's a pretty limited test . . .only one without wax . . .could have been something else that made the serving break.
I'd rather wear out than rust out.

It's not that I don't like wax, I am meticulous with my compound, but for some reason I just never applied any to this particular string. Looking back I am glad I went that route, I am fairly confident that is why I have seen so much life out of this string. Never had to adjust the brace height either, not sure if that is related or not I bet when I do take it off it will be as rigid as a steel rod.

That might sound a bit far-fetched, but you might be on to some thing there. Actually, I was wondering that too. I've noticed, in the past, that different dyes did affect my string making process, i.e. some colours are easier to work with.

I typically use 20-25 arrows . . .don't aim at spots, just shoot between the other arrows, make rows . . .just try not to make an accidential robinhood. Otherwise, this testing thing can get expensive. Not that easy using all the arrows in my target arrow bucket. Odd weights. I shoot off my gas grill at 27 yards.
