Exocet 200, S5, Flemish Dyna String, and Noise

Post by Aero320 »

I recently installed the Flemish Dyna string from Excal on my Exocet 200. After first shooting 24 arrows from the bow and allowing it to rest overnight (so that the sting could stretch), I adjusted the brace height this morning to where the string is about 1/16" in from of the S5 pads. There is no doubt the bow is much quieter than it was before. Now the sound of the arrow hitting the target makes most of the noise. Also, the tag ends of the sting turn into a little "puff" balls after you start shooting and this may be helping dissipate the string noise. I think I have the ideal setup now.

Congrats on your setup! Glad you're happy w/ it. The following is just an observation in general, maybe it's an age thing, but whenever xbow noise is mentioned, this is what runs thru my head:

I'm deaf as a bat, nearly, btw.

That is my problem also, "Now if I can just get a critter to cooperate!!!". If they would wake me up and stay there instead of waking me up and then taking off.
