quick fletch and arrow wrap questions

Post by strum »

i have fletched many many arrows over the years with my JoJan multifletch..always liked the results i got .but im thinking about doing somthing different..anybody here used the NAP quick fletch? or the Bohning..looks easy but...
also i have never used wraps but i like the fact that when its time to refletch clean up is easier(i think)
Some things i dont understand about wraps..
do you have to buy sizes for crossbow arrows/bolts
when you roll em on do they overlap leaving a hump?
do they add much weight ?
will i look cooler with em ? note i need help in this area as im pretty uncool lookin..
note again..yes its 5:30 in the morn..I cant make it out of bed till 7:30 on work day ..but i took today off.. :D lookout turkeys

I haven't seen much of the quick fletch here, pull up onestringer web-site they will hook you up with wraps, ask for Mindy. They look nice doesn't affect flight but can be a pain to remove.

I thgink they use acetone to remove them. xbowkidd does my arrowa and never said they were hard to remove. I don't use wraps but he does.

Used to use wraps but they are a PITA to remove when reflecting and do add weight to the back. Shrink wraps are easier to apply (complete with vanes) but not very durable, also add weight. There are 1" wraps on the market that fit most crossbow arrows and don't overlap. Went to cresting arrows with lacquer, made vane removal easier but hard to repair just one vane without re-cresting.
Finally decided that pretty is as pretty does. Have made up some pretty arrows to look at or hunt but mostly use bare arrows for fun shooting now.
Vortex, Phoenix, single-shot rifles and handguns.
Incurable tinkerer.
Why hunt? Simple, it's BASIC. Why breath?!
