Post by vixenmaster »

This is my old 1978 Toy pickup that used to be my MH! Just got it running again & now is in the work in progress stages.

Looking good smoky! I cant get over the lack of body rot your beast has for a 78! Here in Ontario with the salt used in the winter a 2005 has more rot then your girl. Sweet hunting rig for sure!

Now you need to whack off the flat bed frame just behind the rear axles! ;)

It has some surface rust on the back MH add on chassis but has no cancer on her. Now to lvl with y'all this is our main set of wheels now. Our Burb at 280,000 is losing the battle, too much cost of repairs that are way more than its selling value & 9 miles to the gal around town. So our Toy named Odd Duck has 94,024 miles on her all original engine & tranny.

It has those helper springs & stiff isn't the word fer riding in it! 3 miles of big gravel roads makes yer teeth chatter! Why whack off the extra chassis ? It has the spare tire carrier & solid welded frame towing set-up. Of course i don't knowed what i need with an extra 8' flat bed but haulin building material would be easier. DaGriz put some advice on this to me please, thx. I have no torch nor welder, so i would have to pay someone to put the receiver set-up on the end of original chassis. I reckon i could rent a welder. Friend has a torch set-up.

you'll get a nicer ride out of it if you throw some more weight on the back just behind the rear axle. It will help for traction too. I imagine your spinning quite a bit in the loose stuff.

Several deer will work nicely for that!
