Same way I justify spending four times more on good scopes.
I am really hoping this thread question is just misunderstood in the reading of it.
Because if it is turning into a trash thread, I want no part of it, but please prove me
wrong, and offer some good insight as to why spend more.

Dont know if I'm correct (I could check), but aren't you the one who said you were leaving the forum and not post again?

I suppose one could ask that about any consumer good. For those that understand; no "justification" is needed. For those that don't; no justification will do.

from old jim
Once again the Mental Midgets Jump on someone who makes a lot of sense but doesn't live up to their standards of AREN'T WE AII THE GREATEST, LOOK AT ME, I SHOT 20 BOLTS INTO A DIME AT 50 YARDS AND SHOT 15 DEER LAST SEASON. MY 5 YEAR OLD ONLY GOT 5 SO I GAVE HIM A WACK. You idiots wouldn't know a good post if you saw one. Why does it seem that all these jerks come from the South. I thought Sherman had them educated. Stick with CROSSBOWS and not how great you all are.
from old jim
I bought my first crossbow about 1950, from an ad in Popular Mechanics. Have had a off and on love afair with the closebow since then. About 10 years ago, I got rather serious about it and aquired about a dozen different, mostly high end crossbows. I saw this forum and thought it would be a great source of give and take info. Instead I find:
1) Post on a hillbilly getting a new truck
2) A guy who can't spell his own name asking how to make a heavy arrow go fast.
3) Self appointed experts who know it all and God forbid, could never be wrong and never, never make a mistake.
4) The marksmen who will robin hood 50 yards and over. All the time.
5) The great hunters who kill at least 15 deer a season.
6) The guy who takes his 5 year old hunting and brags about it, with all the clowns clapping.
7) When the self imposed idiots don't agree with a person all they can do ridicule the idea and the person.

For the most part this forum is made up of a family of ignorant, know it all, aren't we all great ,imbeciles. I am most happy to wish you all a fond adieu. No use posting your hate mail . When I make my last post I will delete all trace of Excalicur crossbow forum to my trash, where it belongs.

P.S. Have you ever thought that the rise in price of the ADF to $90 was to cover my commission.
Im afraid jim is just spreading more poison. Hes really just trying his best to get a rise out of someone. Best to let him keep his opinion and anyone who has tried a custom string will know why we do it. Contrary to popular belief I dont enjoy "rubbing someones face in it" ...repeatedly,.. but this guy and what he has said in the past really needs the old heave-ho

Phew..At least nobody bit on the trolling..

For those that don't care, I just picked up the new tri-fold blind from walmart, $24 and I think it is going to be an awesome tool for turkeys! Folds up to fit in a turkey vest, and when unfolded it is enough cover for even the twitchiest of hunters. It is a "must have" in my books.
Or, just carry on feeding the troll.

Thanks for one of the constructive answers. A lot of people ask me if they should spend extra for a custom string. I was trying to pass on the different advantages, and I get a lot of crap by the old school know it alls. Many people on a crossbow forum would like to know advantages to different crossbows and accessories. I thought the forum was to share knowledge, not mock a a fellow crossbow person.
