thanks so much everyone.. it does feel good to get one down, especially on opening day. i've never harvested a turkey OR deer on opening day before.. and i wanna thank someone too, i don't recall who but someone advised on turkey decoy set ups... i never had any luck with decoys, i've tried so many different set ups and nothing worked. someone on this forum suggested the hen decoy on the ground with the jake right on top and man, did it work. i swear when this big tom saw those dekes he ran to them... so thank you whoever suggested that, i will be using that set up for a while..lol
