Quiet but Relaxing Morning

Post by ecoaster »

Congrats to all the lucky hunters. Sometimes it all comes together and you're home before breakfast.

Woods were quiet this moring. I only heard two gobblers. One I think fell to the farmer on the adjacent property and the other I couldn't convince to come for a look. It was great to wake up with the woods again. I work my A$$ of for my job, but when it comes to the openers, I never miss them. It's my way of recharging the batteries.

Anyway, I still have a few days off before I head back to work, so I will keep on em. Going to put the rain gear on and try to go all day.

I did find this skull on the way out. It will make for a nice set of rattling antlers for the fall.

Have fun and be safe!!!

Good post. It's great to just be in the woods at dawn to see everything come alive. The older I get the more I enjoy that time of day in the woods.

Your title said quiet but some mornings it's almost deafening with all the squirrels, crows, jays, dogs and every other critter waking up. :)

Hey bud, you deserve to get yourself a turkey tomorrow, and I expect a text to verify this!!

Nice find too!! Go get them and enjoy the woods, even if they are a little wet. Rain + turkey season = success.
You can take the man out of the woods but you can't take the woods out of the man.

Cool find! I like the angle you used for the photo!

There's something special about being out in the woods in spring! I love seeing all the lilies, the ferns, the leeks, and the many mysterious plants that only seem to be visible this time of year. Turkeys are just a good excuse to get out there! :D

Happy hunting - ENJOY!
