Damage to nocks, not really new

Post by dwilley »

I know there was a thread recently dealing with scratches appearing at the nock end of arrows, but I'm not sure which. Anyway, it prompted me to look closely at my arrows. Most do show light scratches, but very light, all except one.

I have no idea what caused the damage shown, I'm pretty sure I did not come close to "Robin Hooding" four times.
Has anyone else seen this type of damage and would anyone care to suggest what might have caused it?
cheers,
David

Almost robin hooding caused that. Toss that arrow because the carbon is damaged.

X2

Here are a couple of photos of near robinhoods at 3D - maybe some forum members will recognize their arrows. :)

After looking at the pics from Vixchix I'm starting to think robin hooding is what caused it,

No longer 'shoot for groups' for that reason, not just expensive but dangerous. Had a compound bow disassemble from a partially cracked (plastic) nock that I overlooked.
