thanks to turkey hunting my name was mud

Post by munch »

well i promised to take momma and our grandson to his first 3d shoot today early but things don't always go as planned .i thought i would slip out at 4am and sit till 7 just to see if i could get a bird.then pick momma and alex up for breakfast and 3d .i have been having no luck at all.well at 522 i had a bird sound off right behind me in the bush 10 minutes latter he did it again so i gave a few yelps and the old hat fly down and the game was on and on and on and on only the game was his and he would not come .every time he would gobble i would think boy i bet she is pissed now .finally at 830 i said enough is enough and i slipped around the bush and worked my way slowly to him as he did the same .too bad for his luck i spotted him first .23 lbs 10.5" beard and 1 1/16 and 1 1/8 spurs .we got to the 3d at about 1 then home for deep fryed turkey so i am out of the dog house and fed well.it has been a hard couple weeks hope the next bird is a little faster i need some sleep.
here are some pics of the bird and gradma and her boy at the shoot
