28 lb turkey !!! (not mine)

Post by evaughan »

Took 2 co-workers up to 84 to hit some of my top properties yesterday. The landowners had told me ahead of time that the birds had quit gobbling. We called a couple in quiet through the day and one fella can now add wild turkey to his list of things he has missed.

Anyway, we stopped into lake huron rod and gun on the way out and WOW, they weighed in a 28 lb bird yesterday morning. Interestingly it had only 1" spurs.

Yep, that's a biggen for sure!
Interesting that the spurs are only an inch on that big boy, any record of the beard?

I do not know much about turkey hunting. Are you allowed to feed(bait) turkeys?
Thanks

"...or at a baitsite where the bait has been gone for at least 7 days" - meaning you are allowed to pre-bait them.
